CITY AND RIVER VILLAS

LUXURY VILLA

A prime riverfront location near the city gives this community of hillside villas a setting that is hard to match.

This community is an evolution of earlier work of Willamette Architecture 360 and our principle John Bigot.  The client wanted to continue the success of the Summer Palace style and asked us to design a collection of villas using this theme as inspiration.

Overall, it is a fairly dense project and each home needed to be carefully plotted to protect privacy and fit into the hillside site.  In addition to the river view location, a key feature of the site planning is a large linear landscaped park and water feature connecting the center of the site.  It was so beautiful, the homes facing onto the park had premium pricing similar to the villas on the hilltop with river views.

The stone and granite exteriors are a unique blend of local themes and classical principles and detail.  The horizontal eave line details and arched entry with keystone accents at the porches are key to this language. While it is a character that has matured in the market and has been copied many times, it continues to be popular.

The entry building at the gated community entrance is designed with an iconic tower capped by a gold tone dome.  An important signature element requested by the project’s feng shui master.
