This hillside site was planned for a townhome level of density, but it needed to fit naturally into the landscape. We suggested the developer build a project that fit in between an apartment project, which was typical in the market, and a true single-family home.

To achieve this, we designed a townhome project that was lightly connected so the buildings could adjust to the topography as needed.  A big selling point in this product was the homes were identifiable as individual units.  They live more like a single-family home than a townhome.  Each unit has abundant light, a private yard, and is seen as separate from the neighbors. Each home has a distinct entry and clearly individual face to enhance the buyer’s sense of ownership.

The exterior is a unique blend of prairie style architecture with a classical flavor.  Horizontal lines blend the community into the site and the rich classical inspired details express the high design quality of the homes for a perfect blend we call Classical Prairie.  There is variety in the palette of natural stone, stucco, and metal detailing.  But the theme is consistent to keep the community in harmony.
